Talion, attempting to discard by user8416728

Format: Commander

Commander: Talion, the Kindly Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Dimir discard-control deck helmed by Talion, the Kindly Lord aims to strip opponents' hands while punishing every lost card. A dense suite of symmetrical and combat-triggered discard effects (Necrogen Mists, Bottomless Pit, Hypnotic Specter, Rankle, Master of Pranks) works in concert with payoffs like Megrim, Liliana's Caress, and Waste Not to drain life and generate value. Talion itself provides a steady draw engine once its chosen number aligns with the table's mana curve. The deck can win through cumulative life loss, Tinybones, Trinket Thief's activated ability against empty-handed opponents, or a devastating Notion Thief plus Windfall / Whispering Madness line that draws into a massive hand and sets up a lock. The plan is resilient but slow, relying on incremental advantage rather than a fast combo.
