Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Rakdos Group Slug engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy revolves around deploying inexpensive, symmetrical life-loss permanents such as Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, Underworld Dreams, and Ankh of Mishra during the early turns. When Valgavoth enters the battlefield, every opponent who loses life on their turn triggers Valgavoth, growing the Demon into a massive flying threat while drawing up to three extra cards per turn rotation. This asymmetric card advantage fuels continuous deployment of heavy group slug pieces, damage multipliers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, and punishing enchantments such as Manabarbs and Painful Quandary. Opponents find their life totals rapidly depleted whether they cast spells, tap lands, or draw cards. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through overwhelming table-wide burn combined with lethal commander damage, supported by board wipes and efficient removal to suppress opposing creature boards.
