Deck overview

This deck is a specialized 5-color Spellslinger Storm strategy built around Codie, Ravenous Codex and creatures with the prepare mechanic. By utilizing prepare creatures that enter ready to cast iconic spell effects, the deck leverages Codie's ability to copy every prepared spell cast. In the early game, cheap mana dorks and rocks accelerate Codie and low-cost prepare creatures onto the battlefield by Turn 4. Doubled card draw and ritual spells like Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall and Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song provide massive resource velocity. On Turn 6, the deck converts this mana and spell velocity into a decisive finish via Magecraft triggers from Witherbloom Apprentice, storm copies from Prismari, the Inspiration, or an overwhelming doubled Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate. While vulnerable to creature and artifact removal prior to its big turn, strong card flow and backup Magecraft engines make the deck highly resilient.
