EDH "Let's mod this baby!" - Nethroi, Apex of Death by xamillus

Format: Commander

Commander: Nethroi, Apex of Death

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Nethroi, Apex of Death commands an Abzan graveyard and +1/+1 counters deck centered on modular artifact creatures. Because modular creatures possess zero base power in the graveyard, Nethroi can reanimate nearly an entire army of them simultaneously with a single mutate trigger regardless of the 10-power ceiling. The deck establishes early sacrifice outlets and self-mill to fill the graveyard with zero-power threats, mana ramp, and drain engines. Once assembled, the deck closes games either through explosive combat damage amplified by Kalonian Hydra and modular counter shifting, or through infinite death and recursion loops featuring Enduring Renewal, Ashnod's Altar, and Syr Konrad, the Grim or Marionette Apprentice.
