Deck overview

This competitive Turbo Gyruda combo deck accelerates out its commander, Gyruda, Doom of Depths, to trigger an immediate game-winning mill chain. Leveraging a dense suite of format-staple fast mana artifacts and ritual spells, the deck generates the six mana required to cast Gyruda on Turn 2 or Turn 3. When Gyruda enters the battlefield, its trigger mills sixteen total cards across all players. Because the creature suite consists almost entirely of even-cost shapeshifters, each trigger reliably hits a clone that enters as a copy of Gyruda. The legend rule sends the previous copy to the graveyard, triggering another mill and reanimation step. This sequence cascades through the library until Dread Return and Thassa's Oracle enter the graveyard. Flashbacking Dread Return by sacrificing three clones reanimates Thassa's Oracle to win immediately. Backed by free countermagic, Defense Grid, and Cavern of Souls, the deck offers explosive speed and protected same-turn finishes.
