Deck overview

This Abzan deck commands a synergistic lifegain and reanimation engine helmed by Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The deck converts life fluctuations into overwhelming board presence, utilizing life gain to distribute massive +1/+1 counters and life loss to reanimate high-impact creatures from the graveyard each turn. Early turns focus on establishing mana acceleration and stocking the graveyard using efficient tutors like Survival of the Fittest and Buried Alive. By Turn 4, the deck deploys its commander or a premier value engine like The One Ring or Bolas's Citadel. The mid-game quickly escalates into lethal pressure through two complementary paths: a compact infinite drain combo pairing Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Enduring Tenacity, and explosive combat overruns fueled by Unnatural Growth, Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus, and Archangel of Thune. Resilient protection from Dragonlord Dromoka and Galadriel's Dismissal ensures critical win attempts resolve safely against opposing disruption.
