Deck overview

Ghoulcaller Gisa leads a mono-black Zombie tribal deck centered on board swarms, sacrifice value, and attrition. The game plan relies on ramping into Gisa, sacrificing high-power Zombies to generate double the quantity in 2/2 Zombie tokens, and magnifying their damage output with lords like Undead Warchief and Death Baron. Incidental aristocrat drain from Ayara, First of Locthwain, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and Vengeful Dead supplements combat damage, punishing opponents who attempt to wipe the board. While the deck boasts immense creature-based recursion and card draw via Undead Augur and Graveborn Muse, its speed is bound by summoning sickness and a high curve. Without protective equipment or countermagic, the deck is vulnerable to sweepers, exile effects, and fast combo strategies, but thrives in grindy creature-heavy pods.
