Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity mono-black turbo storm build centered on Gwenom, Remorseless. By combining an extensive suite of zero-mana artifacts, explosive black rituals, and low-cost haste enablers, the deck aims to cast Gwenom and attack as early as Turn 2 or 3. Declaring Gwenom as an attacker activates a pseudo-Citadel engine, granting permission to cast spells directly from the top of the library by paying life equal to their mana values rather than paying mana costs. The deck navigates top-deck land pockets using mill artifacts, sacrifice outlets, and Sensei's Divining Top. It rapidly builds lethal storm counts to close the game on the exact same turn through Aetherflux Reservoir bursts or Mortuary loops with Death Cultist. Turn-silencing pieces like Defense Grid and Conqueror's Flail protect the combo turn, while Doomsday and Necropotence provide resilient backup lines when Gwenom is contested.
