Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black tribal aggro build led by Karumonix, the Rat King. The strategy focuses on deploying low-cost Rat creatures in the early turns, casting Karumonix to replenish the hand, and giving the entire rat swarm Toxic 1. By attacking each turn, the deck builds up poison counters on opponents while supporting the board with cards like Piper of the Swarm for menace and Valley Rotcaller for direct life drain. The deck benefits from high creature redundancy and a low mana curve, making its opening deployment consistent. However, the list lacks mana acceleration, running no mana rocks or rituals alongside a slim 31-land base. It also possesses very little protection against board wipes and carries narrow interaction outside of creature removal. Games are won through steady combat pressure and poison accumulation rather than burst damage or combo finishes.
