Deck overview

This Golgari deck combines reanimation attrition led by Meren of Clan Nel Toth with a robust Planeswalker midrange engine powered by eight distinct Garruk planeswalkers. The primary game plan develops mana and sacrifice outlets in the early turns, casts Meren on Turn 4, and builds experience counters through recurring creature deaths. By Turn 5 to 6, the deck establishes an oppressive attrition engine using Grave Pact, Fleshbag Marauder, and Sheoldred, Whispering One to strip opposing creature boards while accumulating massive value. Critical win conditions arrive on Turn 6 through reanimated game-enders such as Avenger of Zendikar, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, or drained life totals via Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Token swarms and overrun abilities from planeswalkers like Garruk Wildspeaker close out the table by Turn 8. While resilient against single-target removal due to permanent experience counters, the deck remains vulnerable to graveyard exile and fast, spell-based combo decks.
