Deck overview

This deck leverages Hei Bai, Forest Guardian as a 5-color commander engine designed to rapidly assemble a critical mass of Shrines. By combining dense 2-mana acceleration with cheap blink spells such as Ephemerate, Cloudshift, and Teleportation Circle, the deck repeatedly triggers Hei Bai's enter-the-battlefield ability to cheat Shrines directly from the library onto the battlefield for free. As the Shrine count climbs, static and triggered abilities from cards like The Spirit Oasis, Kyoshi Island Plaza, and Sanctum of All generate overwhelming mana velocity and card advantage. The deck then converts this board presence into a win through compounding upkeep drains from Sanctum of Stone Fangs and Northern Air Temple, supplemented by an unblockable Spirit token army created by Hei Bai's activated ability and buffed by Southern Air Temple.
