Deck overview

This Grixis build is an amass/Ring-tempt engine built around Sauron, the Dark Lord. Every spell an opponent casts grows an Orc Army; every Army hit tempts the Ring, and Sauron converts each tempt into a four-card wheel. The primary path is grind-then-crush: out-draw the table with the command-zone wheel plus The One Ring, Call of the Ring, and Relic of Sauron, pump a single trampling Army with Mauhur, Uruk-hai Captain, Orcish Siegemaster, and Saruman, the White Hand, then finish with the Army backed by a Wraith swarm from nine Nazgul and Lord of the Nazgul. A reanimator corridor (Entomb into Reanimate, Animate Dead, or Living Death) cheats out Sauron, Lord of the Rings, Cavern-Hoard Dragon, or The Balrog of Moria, and a quiet artifact combo - Basalt Monolith plus Rings of Brighthearth feeding Walking Ballista - can end games out of nowhere. The three "hidden commanders" (Saruman, the White Hand, Sauron, Lord of the Rings, and Lord of the Nazgul) each provide a second engine if Sauron himself is locked out.
