Deck overview

This Sauron, the Dark Lord deck merges a robust Grixis reanimation strategy with an aggressive Nazgûl tribal and Ring-tempting shell. In the early turns, it deploys efficient 2-mana artifacts to ramp into either a turn 4 Sauron or early reanimation targets such as Archon of Cruelty and Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur. Sauron generates continuous card advantage by discarding and drawing four fresh cards whenever the Ring tempts, creating high synergy with Archfiend of Ifnir, Anger, and mass reanimation spells. The eight copies of Nazgûl act as self-buffing Ring-bearers that scale rapidly into lethal attackers. The deck defends its board using premier free and 1-mana interaction like Deflecting Swat, Force of Negation, and Mana Drain while controlling opposing boards with Toxic Deluge and Cyclonic Rift, ultimately closing the game on turn 7 through overwhelming combat pressure and life-drain attrition.
