4. WUBG - Witxh-Maw Poison Atraxa by PodGames

Format: Commander

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 48

Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive midrange poison and proliferation strategy helmed by Atraxa, Praetors' Voice. The primary game plan establishes early poison counters on every opponent through cheap toxic creatures, unblockable infect threats, or direct spells like Prologue to Phyresis. Once opponents are inoculated, the deck shifts toward board control and compounding value, using Atraxa's end-step ability and synergistic engines like Evolution Sage, Inexorable Tide, and Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus to multiply poison counters simultaneously. Premium card engines such as Rhystic Study, Sylvan Library, and Mystic Remora sustain resources, while interactive cards like Swords to Plowshares, Dovin's Veto, and Farewell keep major threats in check. The deck closes games around Turn 6 by accelerating proliferation triggers, eliminating all three opponents in parallel through 10 poison counters without needing traditional combat damage.
