Commander: Animar, Soul of Elements

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Animar is a creature-centric combo/midrange deck that uses +1/+1 counters both as a mana discount and as a win condition. The primary plan is to ramp into Animar, grow it with cheap creature casts and counter doublers, then either storm off with Ancestral Statue into All Will Be One/Simic Ascendancy or cast hasted Eldrazi via Finale of Devastation and annihilate the table. Tutors such as Survival of the Fittest and Worldly Tutor find the combo or a finisher. The deck is fast and redundant but leans on Animar for its cheapest lines; without it, the Eldrazi beatdown plan still functions.
