Ahoy! Pirates by user2574749

Format: Commander

Commander: Don Andres, the Renegade

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Don Andres, the Renegade commands a Grixis Pirates-and-theft deck that steals or casts opponents' cards, then uses those cards against them. Don Andres gives +2/+2, menace, and deathtouch to creatures you control but don't own, and turns opponents' noncreature spells into treasures, so the deck aims to build a board from exile effects like Nightveil Specter, Etali, and Hostage Taker. Secondary paths are temporary theft via Mob Rule and Act of Treason, and Pirate recursion/value through Admiral Brass and Breeches, Brazen Plunderer. The deck can win without its commander, but Don Andres is the primary engine that turns a random pile of stolen cards into a lethal army.
