Commander: Anhelo, the Painter

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Anhelo, the Painter runs a Grixis spellslinger-copy game plan that sacrifices a token to duplicate the most impactful instant or sorcery each turn. Talrand, Poppet Stitcher, Jadar, Docent, Deekah, and Metallurgic Summonings generate both the casualty fodder and a secondary token beatdown path. The usual kill is a heavily copied Crackle with Power, reached by chaining casualty draw spells through Double Vision and Twinning Staff. Fire Lord Azula acts as the hidden copy commander: when it attacks it adds red mana and copies every spell, often more than doubling a single turn's output. The deck leans on its front-face token makers for value; their transformed sides mainly serve as late-game attackers after the hand is full.
