Deck overview

This is a Mardu "firebending" extra-combat deck built around Fire Lord Zuko. The commander turns every spell cast from exile and every permanent entering from exile into a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control, while Firebending makes his attacks produce red mana proportional to his power. The deck leans heavily into exile-impulse card flow - Reckless Impulse, Wrenn's Resolve, Light Up the Stage, Showdown of the Skalds, Prosper, Tome-Bound, and Laelia, the Blade Reforged - to fuel Zuko's growth and find the extra-combat payoff.
