Deck overview

This Dimir list blends a dedicated creature-suppression control package with a compact spell-based finish. Commanded by Sephiroth, Planet's Heir, the deck uses asymmetric -X/-X effects, board sweepers, and aristocrat drain engines to dominate creature-centric boards. Cards like Maha, Its Feathers Night, Night of Souls' Betrayal, and Massacre Wurm effectively suppress wide boards while growing Sephiroth. To close games cleanly, the deck leverages the premier two-card combination of Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation (or Tainted Pact), backed by an elite suite of free and efficient countermagic including Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Swan Song. While missing maximum competitive fast mana and tutor density, the list reliably establishes board control by Turn 4 before executing an unanswerable stack-based finish on Turn 5.
