Deck overview

This Golgari deck is commanded by Greta, Sweettooth Scourge and centers around generating, weaponizing, and sacrificing Food tokens. The early game focuses on developing mana acceleration and token engines through pieces like Gilded Goose, Tireless Provisioner, and Academy Manufactor. In the midgame, Greta, Sweettooth Scourge converts Food tokens into continuous card draw and board buffs, while utility permanents like Trail of Crumbs and Idol of Oblivion maintain resource velocity. The deck closes games around Turn 6 to 7 using aristocrat burn from Marionette Master and Marionette Apprentice, overrun combat from Night of the Sweets' Revenge, or an infinite draw and token loop with Peregrin Took and Experimental Confectioner. While the deck boasts high synergy and resilient card draw, it lacks instant-speed stack interaction and protective spells, making it vulnerable to well-timed board wipes and targeted removal.
