Deck overview

This mono-black commander deck is led by Ghoulcaller Gisa and centers on Zombie tribal synergies, sacrifice mechanics, and token swarms. The strategy establishes early board presence with efficient Zombie drops, ramp, and anthem lords such as Death Baron and Undead Warchief. Ghoulcaller Gisa enters on turn 5 to convert large creatures and buffed tokens into an exponential swarm of 2/2 Zombies. While the deck lacks library tutors and fast combo finishes, it features strong functional redundancy across tribal anthems, graveyard recursion, and aristocrat drain effects like Vengeful Dead, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Reactive interaction covers creatures and enchantments, while Noxious Ghoul provides asymmetric board suppression against creature-heavy opponents. The deck's primary vulnerabilities are its reliance on summoning sickness and a lack of protective counterspells or wipe protection for its token army.
