Deck overview

This Golgari deck is led by Blech, Loafing Pest, turning every lifegain trigger into +1/+1 counters for Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. The primary strategy swarms the battlefield with typal tokens using cards like Scute Swarm, Arasta of the Endless Web, and Pest Infestation, then rapidly scales their power using repeatable lifegain sources like Bogwater Lumaret, Kazandu Nectarpot, and High Market. Counter multipliers including Hardened Scales, Winding Constrictor, and The Earth Crystal accelerate board growth, while Duskshell Crawler and Garruk's Uprising grant trample to push combat damage through blockers. Aristocrat payoffs like Dina, Soul Steeper and Starscape Cleric drain opposing life totals in tandem with attacks. Standalone powerhouses such as Bolas's Citadel and Beledros Witherbloom provide late-game burst potential alongside an incidental two-card combo in Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Dina, Soul Steeper.
