Deck overview

This deck is a focused Gruul Stompy strategy centered on Xenagos, God of Revels. It ramps during the early turns to cast Xenagos on Turn 4, followed immediately by massive beaters such as Ghalta, Primal Hunger, Quartzwood Crasher, and Kalonian Hydra on Turn 5. Xenagos grants these creatures immediate haste and doubles their power at combat, applying heavy combat pressure without giving opponents time to react at sorcery speed. Drawing cards off high-power triggers via Garruk's Uprising and Return of the Wildspeaker ensures a constant stream of threats. Defensive spells like Heroic Intervention and Asceticism protect the board from opposing disruption, allowing the deck to close out the game by Turn 7.
