Commander: Gargos, Vicious Watcher

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Gargos, Vicious Watcher leads a mono-green Hydra fight deck. The primary plan is to cast Gargos on turn 4, then use its Hydra cost reduction of {4} to flood the board with discounted Hydras while casting cheap fight spells that target your own creatures to trigger Gargos's free fight removal. Secondary paths win through combat overkill: doubling power each combat with Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus and Unnatural Growth, drawing cards and giving trample with Garruk's Uprising, or spreading damage with Hydra Omnivore and poison with Phyrexian Hydra. Gargos acts as ramp and removal engine. Zopandrel functions as the hidden commander, providing the repeatable doubling the deck needs to close games. Gargos is single-faced, so the deck builds entirely around its front face.
