Deck overview

This Bant deck uses Ellie and Alan, Paleontologists to cheat massive spells into play ahead of curve. During the first two turns, the deck uses landcycling and self-discarding high-mana creatures like Titanoth Rex, Angel of the Ruins, and Generous Ent to fix mana, hit land drops, and seed the graveyard. After casting Ellie and Alan on turn 4, the commander taps on turn 5 to exile a 6- to 9-mana creature from the graveyard, triggering Discover for that mana value. This immediately casts game-warping threats such as Apex Devastator, Ghalta and Mavren, or cascade enablers like Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty and Monstrous Vortex for zero mana. Value engines like Kozilek's Unsealing, Garruk's Uprising, and Up the Beanstalk keep the hand full while generating additional mana and tokens. The deck overwhelms opponents with massive trampling combat damage by turn 7, supported by flexible channel interaction and selective sweepers.
