Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Polukranos, Unchained as a self-scaling combat threat and repeatable creature removal engine. Accelerated by early ramp, Polukranos enters on Turn 4 as a 6/6 and rapidly expands via counter doublers such as Branching Evolution, Corpsejack Menace, and Hydra's Growth. Trample enablers ensure combat damage connects, allowing the deck to eliminate opponents sequentially through lethal commander attacks. The deck converts high creature power into massive card draw using Momentous Fall and Rishkar's Expertise, while Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord offers an alternate route to drain the entire table simultaneously. Polukranos keeps opposing boards clear of problematic creatures using its fight ability, especially when paired with Magebane Armor to prevent counter loss. The deck remains resilient against removal through built-in Escape mechanics and graveyard recursion.
