Turtles

Format: Commander

Commander: Archelos, Lagoon Mystic

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Archelos, Lagoon Mystic commands a Sultai turtle tribal deck that weaponizes asymmetric tap-and-untap states to ramp freely and break board parity. When Archelos is untapped, tapped lands and creatures enter ready for combat, enabling smooth mana curves and immediate blockers. When tapped using vehicles or tap outlets, Archelos forces opponents' lands and creatures to enter tapped, severely slowing down opposing development. The deck wins primarily through overwhelming combat damage by converting high-toughness creatures into massive attackers using Assault Formation and Bedrock Tortoise. Large defensive threats like Ancient Adamantoise and The Pride of Hull Clade turn into lethal beaters, while Fecund Greenshell pumps the team and digs for critical resources.
