Jhoira

Format: Commander

Commander: Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a focused Izzet artifact-storm engine helmed by Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain. The core plan is to flood the battlefield with cheap historic spells - overwhelmingly artifacts - converting every cast into a card via Jhoira. A dense package of cost reducers such as Etherium Sculptor, Foundry Inspector, and Enthusiastic Mechanaut makes those spells essentially free, letting the deck churn through its library before resetting the board with Retract or Paradoxical Outcome. The primary kill is Aetherflux Reservoir, with Psychosis Crawler as a draw-based backup. The deck also has a deterministic Mystic Forge + Sensei's Divining Top loop, Krark-Clan Ironworks recursion lines, and a Mirrodin Besieged alternate win. It is a "one big turn" combo deck: ramp early, deploy Jhoira, storm off, and close the table before opponents can meaningfully stabilize.
