Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov midrange attrition strategy helmed by Kambal, Consul of Allocation. It aims to slow down opposing combo and spellslinger strategies through passive life drain while steadily building a resilient board of equipment, tokens, and synergistic creatures. Early turns focus on establishing mana and deploying Kambal on curve. In the mid-game, cards like Cloud, Midgar Mercenary, Smothering Tithe, and Phyrexian Arena accumulate card flow and board presence. The deck closes games through compounding combat pressure enabled by Divine Visitation, Helm of the Host, Moonsilver Spear, and Royal Talon Fighter Jet, or through sudden life total disruption via Tree of Perdition and Quietus Spike. While the deck possesses robust creature removal and board wipe options, it relies on combat damage over multiple turn cycles to finish games and lacks stack-based countermagic.
