Deck overview

A Grixis +1/+1-counter aristocrats deck built around Marchesa, the Black Rose's recursive engine, and it deliberately avoids infinite combos in favor of grinding the table down through value. The plan is to put counters on creatures via dethrone, Drana, Liberator of Malakir, Danny Pink, Gev, Scaled Scorch, backup, or Unspeakable Symbol, then sacrifice them through a dense suite of outlets such as Carrion Feeder, Phyrexian Altar, and Goblin Bombardment, with Marchesa returning them at the next end step. Death triggers from Grim Haruspex, Dictate of Erebos, Marionette Apprentice, and Skullclamp turn every loop into cards, edicts, and damage. The deck closes via Thundering Raiju's drain, Terror of the Peaks burst through Sneak Attack, or unblockable double-damage combat with Herald of Secret Streams and Uncivil Unrest. Losing Marchesa hurts badly, but the deck retains enough independent threats to pivot into a fair midrange game.
