Felothar the Steadfast leads an Abzan toughness-matters deck that turns defenders into serious threats. The main plan is to deploy high-toughness, low-power walls, then make them assign combat damage with their toughness through Felothar, Doran the Siege Tower, Assault Formation, or Bedrock Tortoise. Felothar's activated ability sacrifices a creature to draw cards equal to its toughness while discarding only its power, making 0/4+ walls a huge card-advantage engine. Secondary paths include life-total exchange with Tree of Perdition or Tree of Redemption, a massive +1/+1 counter swing from Canopy Gargantuan, and Betor, Kin to All's life-halving end step. The deck wins through one synchronized alpha strike rather than any fast combo.
