Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control and engine-building strategy centered on Shorikai, Genesis Engine. Rather than relying on fragile creature commanders, it exploits Shorikai's status as a noncreature artifact Vehicle to generate card advantage and Pilot tokens that naturally dodge creature board wipes. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost mana rocks to cast Shorikai ahead of curve on Turn 3, unlocking consistent draw filtering and token production on Turn 4. The deck compounds this advantage through untap engines like Unwinding Clock and Aphetto Alchemist, draw multipliers like Teferi's Ageless Insight, and token payoffs like Minn, Wily Illusionist and Felidar Retreat. The board is controlled with efficient spot removal, mana taxes, and asymmetrical wipes like Supreme Verdict and Evacuation. Victory is achieved by overrunning opponents with an army of buffed Pilots, Constructs, and Vehicles across two combat turns.
