Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Rakdos Group Slug and Attrition engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy revolves around deploying low-mana passive damage sources such as Razorkin Needlehead, Roiling Vortex, and Underworld Dreams that reliably deal damage to each opponent on their own turns. These pings trigger Valgavoth's ability to draw an extra card and grow with +1/+1 counters on every opponent's turn, providing continuous card advantage and building a formidable aerial threat. Once established, the deck accelerates table-wide life loss through punishing enchantments like Manabarbs, Painful Quandary, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, amplified by Torbran, Thane of Red Fell and Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might. Anti-lifegain effects prevent opponents from stabilizing, while redirection spells safeguard the commander. Games conclude rapidly around Turn 7 through overwhelming passive bleed, massive commander damage, or devastating finishers like Chandra's Ignition and Torment of Hailfire.
