Grismold Combo by army

Format: Commander

Commander: Grismold, the Dreadsower

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Grismold creates a 1/1 Plant for each player each end step and grows when tokens die. This deck turns that gift into a weapon with Illness in the Ranks, Virulent Plague, and Engineered Plague, which kill the Plants immediately for drain triggers from Zulaport Cutthroat, Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Poison-Tip Archer while Grismold becomes a large trampler. Secondary paths win without combat through infinite death loops with Gravecrawler, Forsaken Miner, Warren Soultrader, and Ashnod's Altar, the Basking Broodscale plus Blade of the Bloodchief and Tarrian's Soulcleaver loop, or Bloodchief Ascension plus Mindcrank mill. Grismold is a stax token engine, not a combo piece; the hidden commanders are the drain package and Basking Broodscale.
