Deck overview

This deck is a resilient Grixis aristocrats and threat-theft control engine commanded by Marchesa, the Black Rose. The primary strategy leverages Marchesa's dethrone ability and end-step reanimation to create an indestructible recursion engine. By ensuring creatures have +1/+1 counters—via dethrone attacks, Gev, Scaled Scorch, or Madame Null, Power Broker—the deck repeatedly sacrifices them to free outlets like Ashnod's Altar and Viscera Seer to trigger their enter-the-battlefield and death abilities every turn. The deck weaponizes this loop through recurring edicts from Plaguecrafter, ping damage from Mayhem Devil, massive life drains from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and permanent threat theft via Dominus of Fealty and Mark of Mutiny. Card advantage engines like River Kelpie and Satoru, the Infiltrator keep the hand full during each rotation. The deck grinds out opponents through oppressive board control and finishes the table around Turn 8 while maintaining strong resilience against standard destruction sweepers.
