Deck overview

This Izzet deck is built around The Emperor of Palamecia, utilizing noncreature spells with mana value 4 or greater to transform the commander into The Lord Master of Hell. Once transformed, its Starfall trigger deals massive global burn to every opponent based on the number of noncreature, nonland cards in your graveyard. The deck bridges the early turns with Opus-synergy creatures like Colorstorm Stallion, Chandra's Emberling, and Spectacular Skywhale, which scale in size as high-cost spells are cast. A dense suite of premium countermagic, featuring free spells like Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Deflecting Swat, ensures your engine pieces survive targeted disruption. Stun mechanics and bounce spells delay opposing aggressive boards, giving you the time needed to fill your graveyard and close the game through combined burn and aerial attacks.
