Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger strategy led by Alania, Divergent Storm. It leverages Alania's ability to copy the first instant, sorcery, and Otter spell cast each turn by gifting card draws to opponents. The game plan focuses on establishing steady mana with rocks and cost reducers like Stormcatch Mentor and Sapphire Medallion, then deploying repeatable burn triggers such as Fiery Inscription, Coruscation Mage, and Erebor Flamesmith. Once established, the deck pivots into explosive turns fueled by Storm-Kiln Artist, Jeska's Will, and High Tide, copying high-impact card draw, burn, and storm finishers like Grapeshot and Empty the Warrens. A robust suite of over ten counterspells and spot removal spells allows the deck to contest opposing threats and protect its engine until it unleashes a lethal flurry of spells.
