Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Rakdos turbo storm list commanded by Rowan, Scion of War. The primary strategy focuses on deploying Rowan on turn 2 using format-staple fast mana artifacts and rituals. On turn 3, the deck activates painlands, fetchlands, or zero-to-low mana life payment effects such as Street Wraith, Dismember, or Plunge into Darkness to lose a substantial chunk of life. Rowan then taps to provide an overwhelming cost reduction to all black and red spells cast that turn. This reduction enables immediate hardcasts of massive card advantage engines, predominantly Peer into the Abyss, Behold the Beyond, or Dark Petition. After drawing half the library, the deck generates infinite or massive mana via Birgi, God of Storytelling, Treasonous Ogre, or Storm-Kiln Artist, closing out the entire table in the same turn with looped burn spells like Searing Touch or Reiterate copying Lightning Bolt.
