Commander: The Balrog, Durin's Bane

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos sacrifice-and-treasure deck helmed by The Balrog, Durin's Bane, a hasty 7/5 that costs {1} less for each permanent sacrificed this turn and can't be blocked except by legendary creatures. The plan is to churn out Treasure tokens and disposable creatures, feed them to sacrifice outlets, and convert every death into mana, cards, and damage. Mayhem Devil, Mirkwood Bats, Perforating Artist, Juri, Master of the Revue, and Rakdos Joins Up turn each sacrifice into table-wide drain, while the Balrog swings in for fast commander damage. The primary combo - Mayhem Devil or Mirkwood Bats plus Pitiless Plunderer, Viscera Seer, and Reassembling Skeleton - loops infinite sacrifices for infinite pings. Skull Storm scales with repeated commander casts as a finisher. The deck grinds value early, then closes with a combination of commander beats, incremental drain, and the occasional infinite loop.
