My Own Mother Thought I Was a Monster

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Grixis spell-copying deck helmed by Fire Lord Azula, built around her combat trigger to copy spells while attacking. The primary game plan is to deploy Azula, give her haste, attack to generate firebending mana, then chain instants and sorceries - rituals for ramp, draw spells to refuel, and copy effects to multiply them - ultimately burning the table out with Comet Storm, Exsanguinate, or repeated Fiery Inscription triggers. Secondary threats like Ashling, Flame Dancer and Veyran, Voice of Duality provide incremental value and can close games when the copy engine is online. The deck relies heavily on the commander being on board and attacking; without her, the copy density drops significantly, but the 99 still offers standalone spell-slinger payoffs and flash enablers to create explosive combat turns.
