ElvenKing by XavierSt33l

Format: Commander

Commander: Thranduil, the Elvenking

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Sultai Elf tribal combo deck helmed by Thranduil, the Elvenking, a 4-mana 5/6 that gains all activated abilities of Elf cards in the graveyard and draws two cards whenever another legendary Elf enters. The primary plan is to flood the board with Elf mana dorks, stock the graveyard with key Elves via Entomb and Buried Alive, then assemble an infinite-mana engine - most commonly Devoted Druid plus an untapper like Staff of Domination or Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler - to fuel a massive Finale of Devastation or a Staff-powered deck draw. The commander itself becomes the infinite-mana engine when Devoted Druid is in the graveyard, and gains a repeatable tutor when Fauna Shaman is buried. Secondary wins include Lathril, Blade of the Elves's activated ability and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord's sacrifice damage.
