Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain-drain midrange and combo deck helmed by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. The strategy leverages early lifegain triggers from cards like Soul Warden, Authority of the Consuls, and Pristine Talisman to turn lifegain into raw card advantage through the commander's ability. It controls the tempo of opposing boards using efficient single-target removal, board wipes like Toxic Deluge and Farewell, and asymmetric taxes from Blind Obedience and Kambal, Consul of Allocation. The deck converts this massive card flow into instant-speed table kills using Sanguine Bond style infinite combos, primarily pairing Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Enduring Tenacity, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Marauding Blight-Priest, or Starscape Cleric. Alternate win conditions like Bolas's Citadel with Aetherflux Reservoir or Approach of the Second Sun give the deck versatile closing power.
