Deck overview

This Rakdos group-slug deck commands the table by weaponizing standard game actions against every opponent. Helmed by The Lord of Pain, the deck completely shuts down life gain strategies while punishing players with direct damage whenever they cast their first spell each turn. Supported by acceleration like Sol Ring and Dark Ritual, the deck establishes early taxing permanents such as Razorkin Needlehead and Descent into Avernus before dropping its commander on Turn 4. From there, damage doublers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Bloodletter of Aclazotz supercharge global burn effects, while Manabarbs and Painful Quandary penalize mana usage and card casting. The deck protects its board through efficient redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and clears crowded tables with Blasphemous Act and Toxic Deluge. It finishes opponents around Turn 7 via relentless life loss and explosive burst spells like Blood for the Blood God!.
