Deck overview

This Golgari deck is built around Venom, Deadly Devourer, an aggressive commander that converts high-toughness creature cards in graveyards into massive quantities of +1/+1 counters. The primary game plan accelerates with early mana dorks and uses precise graveyard tutors or cycling effects—such as Entomb, Buried Alive, and Titanoth Rex—to place high-toughness targets like Ancient Adamantoise (toughness 20) and Death's Shadow (toughness 13) into the graveyard. On Turn 4, Venom exiles one of these creatures for {3}, instantly growing into a 15/15 to 24/24 behemoth with menace, vigilance, and trample. The deck protects this enormous investment with a dense suite of cheap hexproof and indestructible spells, uncounterable enablers, and Commander's Plate. It systematically eliminates opponents via single-hit commander damage by Turn 6, or bypasses combat entirely with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord flinging the massive commander to drain the whole table at once.
