Deck overview

This deck is a Mardu midrange battlecruiser strategy commanded by Kaalia, Zenith Seeker. Unlike her original counterpart, this version of Kaalia functions as a reliable card-advantage engine in the command zone, filtering the top six cards of the library on Turn 3 to supply a steady stream of Angels, Demons, and Dragons. The deck bridges into the midgame using heavy mana rocks like Thran Dynamo and cost-cheating permanents such as Sneak Attack, Quicksilver Amulet, and Whip of Erebos. Once assembled around Turn 5, it deploys massive flying beaters—including Blast-Furnace Hellkite, Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest, and Avacyn, Angel of Hope—to present a critical clock on Turn 6. Flexible 3-CMC instant removal answers opposing threats while Kardur, Doomscourge redirects hostile combat. The deck methodically eliminates all three opponents through overwhelming combat damage and double-strike triggers by Turn 8.
