Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines aristocrats sacrifice loops, mass reanimation, and devotion-based life drain. Helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, the deck can turn board wipes into one-sided board states because Avacyn returns dying nontoken creatures at the next end step. In the early game, the deck establishes mana velocity using artifacts, rituals, and cost reducers like Heartless Summoning. During the midgame, it deploys redundant sacrifice outlets such as Phyrexian Altar and Ayara, First of Locthwain alongside drain payoffs including Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Syr Konrad, the Grim. The primary win condition executes an infinite loop with Gravecrawler, Phyrexian Altar, and another Zombie to drain the entire table on Turn 6. Alternatively, massive devotion swings with Gray Merchant of Asphodel or game-ending spells like Living Death and Rise of the Dark Realms close the game promptly.
