Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Izzet Voltron and spellslinger deck commanded by Speedball, New Warrior. The core strategy revolves around deploying Speedball early and targeting him with low-cost cantrips, evasion auras, and pump spells. Every spell targeting Speedball triggers his ability to grant him +2/+2 and lets you choose new targets, effectively redirecting opposing removal while supercharging his combat stats. Supported by cost-reducers like Goblin Electromancer and draw engines like Archmage Emeritus and Curiosity, the deck quickly chains multiple spells in a single turn. Unblockable enablers such as Aqueous Form and Distortion Strike guarantee combat connections, while explosive doublers like Bulk Up and Temur Battle Rage close out opponents through lethal commander damage. Secondary payoffs including Casey Jones, Back Alley Brute and Kraum, Violent Cacophony provide potent backup threats that capitalize on counter placement and spellslinging velocity.
