Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Spider kindred midrange build led by Shelob, Child of Ungoliant. The game plan focuses on building a defensive web of reach and deathtouch Spiders during the opening turns, then casting Shelob on turn 5 or 6. When Shelob enters the battlefield, every Spider gains deathtouch and ward {2}, discouraging opposing attacks and turning combat trades into Food artifact copies of enemy creatures. Equipping Spiders with Viridian Longbow or Thornbite Staff allows instant-speed creature removal that systematically controls opposing boards while creating artifact value. The deck finishes games through wide combat pushes powered by Overrun, lethal poison counters from Fynn, the Fangbearer, or swarm attacks via Spider Spawning and Night of the Sweets' Revenge. While resilient against spot removal thanks to universal ward, the deck remains vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and fast spell-based combos.
