Deck overview

This Dimir artifact deck is commanded by Golbez, Crystal Collector, who turns artifact deployments into card selection via surveil and rewards artifact density with end-step value. The early game focuses on ramping with artifact lands, mana rocks, and token producers like Sai, Master Thopterist to reach 4 artifacts on board. At 4 artifacts, Golbez returns a creature from the graveyard to hand every end step, creating steady card advantage. The deck transitions into a lethal clock by expanding to 8 artifacts while using Entomb, Buried Alive, or self-sacrifice to put massive creatures such as Phyrexian Dreadnought or Ancient Stone Idol into the graveyard. At 8 artifacts, Golbez deals damage equal to the returned creature's power to each opponent every end step, closing the game in two to three turn cycles. Backup plans include Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge and large mana finishers like Torment of Hailfire.
