Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir Zombie tribal midrange strategy commanded by The Scarab God. The primary game plan revolves around developing early Zombie utility creatures and self-mill pieces, deploying the commander on Turn 5, and leveraging its activated ability to reanimate high-value threats as 4/4 Zombies. As the Zombie count swells, The Scarab God's upkeep trigger inflicts mounting life loss on all opponents while sculpting draws through deep scrying. Supporting enchantments like Necroduality and Liliana's Mastery augment the board's offensive stats, while lords like Lord of the Accursed and Hordewing Skaab provide menace and flying to push combat damage past blockers. Because the list foregoes fast mana artifacts and universal tutors, it operates on a fair, on-curve mana curve and relies on natural synergy, resilience from the commander's death-to-hand trigger, and incremental life-drain clocks to close out 4-player games across consecutive combat turns.
